In this episode, Sally Ann Frank, Global Lead for Health and Life Sciences at Microsoft for Startups, explores the evolution of AI from experimentation to enterprise impact. She highlights that successful startups distinguish themselves by innovating business models, not just technology, and maintaining a coachable mindset that prioritizes strategic mentorship and customer discovery.
Sally addresses the challenge of "pilot purgatory" by emphasizing that founders must plan for full production from day one, creating a sense of urgency through clear ROI frameworks to avoid the law of diminishing interest. Looking toward 2026, Sally envisions a "show me the money" era focused on four critical pillars: expanding global access through virtual technology to democratize care, closing the investment gap in women’s health beyond reproductive care, advancing personalized medicine through AI-driven genetics for individualized treatment, and shifting from a "break-fix" model to preventative longevity. Ultimately, the conversation underscores that the most successful ventures will be those that become trusted advisors by adding value at every interaction. Take a listen.
